About the Ladies Poker Tour
The Betfred Ladies Poker Tour is the UK’s only all-female poker tour and is now in its fourth year. This year the tour is again bigger and better, visiting seven casinos and card rooms before culminating in the Grand Final in November.
Entry to each event costs £100, plus a £10 casino/card room administration fee, and Betfred are running exclusive online satellites at www.betfredpoker.com.
Betfred are adding £1,500 to the prize pool of each regional event and £5,000 to the Grand Final prize pool split equally amongst the finalists.
Helen Firth is the new queen of Britain’s card rooms after winning the Grand Final of the Betfred Ladies’ Poker Tour. The 35-year-old from North Yorkshire beat pre-event favourite Sue Adams heads-up at London’s Western Club to claim her first victory in her debut year competing in the series. Helen will be competing in £20,000 worth of events this year including the Irish Open and the WSOP.
Once again, the tour is supported by www.rockpokeronline.com who are providing live online updates from each event, as well as supplying the tournament director in Malcolm ‘The Rock’ Harwood.
In 2009 the BLPT averaged 75-100 players per leg, and the tour continues to grow as more and more women in the UK and across Europe venture to the casinos to learn and excel in poker "We are delighted with the success of the Betfred Ladies Poker Tour in its first three years and we are sure it will continue to go from strength to strength," said Jon Wilde, the PR Manager for Betfred Ladies Poker Tour. "It was an innovative project that has been warmly received by lady poker players throughout the British Isles and we have been thrilled at both the competitiveness and the quality of play on the tour."
