Helena Brett followed up her third place at the previous Betfred Ladies’ Poker Tour event by winning the Northampton leg of the series to secure a place in this year’s Grand Final. The 30-year-old from Staffordshire, who works as the head of commercial activity for a charity, timed her challenge perfectly as she conquered 60 rivals at Aspers Casino. Helena is the third player to qualify to the BLPT Final in November where a £20,000 sponsorship package will go to the winner.

The buy-in
£100 + £10 for all events (qualify online at www.betfredpoker.com)
Added prize money
Betfred are adding £1,500 to each regional event and £5,000 to the final. The Betfred Ladies Poker Tour champion will also receive a £20,000 sponsorship package from Betfred for 2011.
Qualifying for the final
The seven leg winners will automatically qualify for the grand final. In the event of one player winning two legs the person that comes second at that particular leg will qualify for a seat in the final.
The eighth person to qualify for the final will be the winner of the leaderboard. Leaderboard points will be allocated as per the following table:
Each player will receive 5 points for entering a leg of the BLPT 2010; additional points are awarded as follows:

The ninth qualifier will be the winner of a ten player online qualifier which will be made up of players in positions 2 to 11 in the league. In the event of a tie for these 10 places, highest place in a tour event will decide the qualifier.
The final seat will be the winner of an online play off for all players gaining 25 points or more in the league. These will include the unsuccessful nine in the first qualifier who will get a second bite at the cherry.
- Seats for the BLPT final are not transferable and there is no cash alternative. Should a player win two seats then they will forfeit one of them.
- If a player has already won a seat and goes on to win another qualifying event the seat will be rewarded to the 2nd place finisher.
