Event Eight: London

The eighth leg of the 2008 Betfred Ladies Poker Tour got underway at approximately 15:00pm on the 1st November 2008. 81 players lined up all with the shared goal of reaching the grand final in London on 22nd November 2008 and a share in the £9100 prize pool.

On the first notable hand Pam Hadfield  doubled up after going all in with Q J after seeing a flop of Q J 10, and was called by daughter Lucy Hadfield
with A A, no help on the turn or river and Lucy is left crippled with 275 chips!

 

Two big hands before the break

 

A raise to 300 pre flop by Elleni Ross was called by Briony Stone and Andriena Nutt.
Flop: Jh 3c 4d

Briony and Andriena checked, and Elleni raised 500 which Briony called, Andriena re-raises to 1600.

 

Elleni goes all in making it an extra 2300 to call.

Briony folds and after lots of thinking,Andriena calls and turns over J 9.

Elleni shows A A.

On another table we lost.....Ebru Williams.

Carla Goddard went all in with K K and was called by Ebru who turned over Q Q.

Nothing came on the board and Carla's Kings stand up.

 

 

 

A huge pot went down on table 5 where we have 3 of the top 6 in the league, and guess what, all three have just clashed and we have lost the first of our ladies with the chance of winning the league.

Kim Jagger bet 1.5k after seeing a flop of 8 9 5.

She was immediately called by Becky Neilson, and it was folded around to Hazel Birchnell, who re raised all in for 3.25k in total. This was called by Kim Jagger. Becky then took her time, asking how much Kim had behind her (1.75k). After having a clock put on her by the dealer then folded.

Hazel and Kim showed then, Hazel having Q Q and Kim had K K.

River: 6

This was enough to send Hazel back to Newcastle.

Becky walked away in anger, telling everyone that she had folded A A!!

Linda Hurry is first to leave the final table after being taken out by Dawn Allen.

Khuan Harwood went all in pre, short stacked and was called by Tina Bandyle and Tina Abery.

Tina Bandyle checked, Tina Abery bet 12k, Tina B folds.

Khuan turns over A 8 o/s, Tina Abery shows 9 5 o/s.

No help on the river for Khuan and we lose her in 9th place.

 

8th Place

 

Tammy went all in for 22k and was re-raised by Siggi Winters, no other callers so Tammy turns over A Q and Siggi A A.

Siggi's A's stand up and Tammy takes home £273!

7th Place

 

In a 3 way pot, Tina Bandyle moved all in with K 10, was called by Tina Abery with J J. Dawn Allen moved all in for 33k more with Q Q, Tina Abery called.

Turn: 10

It was looking good for Dawn until the killer J came down on the river to leave her with just 3k.


So in 7th place we lose Tina Bandyle who takes home £455.

 

6th Place

 

In a 3 way pot, Tina Bandyle moved all in with K 10, was called by Tina Abery with J J. Dawn Allen moved all in for 33k more with Q Q, Tina Abery called.

It was looking good for Dawn until the killer J came down on the river to leave her with just 3k.

No help for Lynne and so we are down to 4.

Lynne has won the league and has confirmed her place in the final! (and also takes home £637)

No help for Annie and so we lose her in 4th place.

Annie takes home her prize money of £910.

Next to leave us is Tina Abery.

Nothing for Tina so we are down to 2!
