Event Seven: Birmingham
The seventh leg of the 2008 Betfred Ladies Poker Tour got underway at approximately 15:30pm on the 11th October 2008. 76 players lined up all with the shared goal of reaching the grand final in London on 22nd November 2008 and a share in the £8600 prize pool.

During the first 20 minutes of the day 2 players were eliminated, the first to go was Gaenor Jenkins who was taken out by Maria Hewitt.
Also disaster on table 1 when Liz Pearce flopped the nut straight to Anne Scrambler's 2 pair. All the money goes in and Anne makes a full house on the river. Also to prove Aces don’t just get cracked on the internet, S Javadi min raises with AA and is called in the BB by Pheerada Cartwright with Q8, the flop comes Q 8 6 and all the money goes in, no help on the turn and river and 3 players are eliminated within the first 30 minutes! By the way players started with a 6000 stack with a 30 minute clock.

The first two hours played saw the field whittled down to 52 players, the chip leader being Lynne Beaumont the BLPT 2007 Champion, with well known pro Lucy Rokach sitting nicely with just over 19,000 chips

It doesn’t take long to lose our next player just after play started again Hazel Birchnall was eliminated, on a board of 10s As 8s, Hazel pushes all in with Kh 8d and is called by Pheerada Cartwright with Ah 9s.

With the blinds up to 300/600 the small stacks were started to get busy, Charlotte McKay pushes all in for 1.6k with 9 9 and is called by T Hawkes with A K.

At approximately 23:00 Gladys Jarvis moves all in with JQ Hearts and is called by Elizabeth Costa with 88. The flop came 7c6h2s.....turn 9c & the river came Kds.
Elizabeth doubles up! Gladys has now been crippled!!
Gladys moves all in with Q4 suited on BB.. She is called & is dominated by KQ....
No help for Gladys and sadly she departs in 9th.

It was a very good final table with the 2007 champion, Anne Scrambler who won the Stoke leg and Linda Blundell who managed to take 2nd at the very first event in Newcastle.
